'THE GOLDEN ROAD SUITE' - STRING QUARTET NO 1
The third movement - 'Bittersweet Journey' - was actually written first, as a commission in 2012, for the String Quartet Plus festival (SQ Plus), held in the historic St Bartholomew's the Great. Two more movements followed - 'The Golden Road' and 'Landscape of Souls' - and since it's completion, the Suite has been performed at festivals, concerts and events all over the UK for the last 5 years. It was finally recorded and released in May 2017 by my long time collaborators Modulus Quartet on their debut album '12 Seconds of Light'.

'EVOLUTIONAL' - STRING QUARTET NO 2
RECORDING OF 'EVOLUTIONAL' IS DUE TO TAKE PLACE IN 2019
'Evolutional' was written in 2014 during one of my many trips to and from South Africa. On this particular trip I was reflecting on the history of travel and migration between Africa and the rest of the world. While writing the basic material from my new string quartet, I started to imagine what it must have been like for our common ancestors to leave Africa for the first time. I imagined them building boats that could cross the sea for the first time, what the conditions must have been like to make the first voyages out of Africa and the sheer exhilaration of those first sea faring voyages. It struck my that such an important moment - one that helped humanity spread across the globe - could be considered not only Historical, but also 'Evolutional'.
